‘What has been the worst thing that’s happened?’ ‘It must have been awful!’ ‘What has been the most serious disappointment so far?’

‘What else was bad?’ ‘I bet it didn’t stop there – bad news comes in three’s. What else failed?’

‘You must have felt hurt!’ ‘It must have been difficult to recover?’ ‘How has the customer and the project team reacted?’

‘I bet you’re ready to come home, aren’t you?’ ‘Will you have a serious think about whether we revise times and costs, or even whether we should close this thing down completely?’

‘So what lessons have you learned so far that you could pass on to those that follow in your footsteps?’ ‘So what lessons have you and the team learned that you believe would help other project teams?’
